It has been touted that the naming of the jewelries came from Kame’o which was used by the Kabbalah to denote a mystical square or talisman that can serve a variety of purposes. These artistic wearables date as far back as the renaissance and I ancient Greece young women wore these cameos having portraits of various deities to signify power, and their belief. According to the Fenty website, it says “The Cameo is an emblem of Fearlessness, elevation, creativity and joy”.

Her Instagram page has gone agog with the buzz of the new jewelry line and their website added that “Though FENTY’s Cameo features a black woman’s profile, the collection is not about a singular definition of beauty… The cameo is an emblem of fearlessness, elevation and joy”.

The cameos feature women of black origin embossed on glass and resins coated in black color and these are adorned with pearls. The cameo is new introduction into the fashion market and it’s sure going to catch on like a forest fire just like its Fenty predecessors have done.
