Rapper Lexii Alijai, 21, died of accidental overdose

Investigators have unravelled the cause of the sudden death of budding rapper Lexii . This is coming weeks after the up-and-coming rapper died on the 1st of January at the tender age of 21.

The rapper – who was born Alexis Alijai Lynch – died as a result of an overdose of alcohol and drugs and her death was found to be accidental. “This individual died due to mixed fentanyl and ethanol toxicity,” the medical examiner confirmed in a press release obtained by various news agencies. The Minneapolis Police Department is still carrying out an investigation according to the press release by the Minneapolis Police medical officer.

The Minneapolis native died shortly after 10:30 a.m local time on New year’s day. She was staying at Loews Minneapolis Hotel in Minneapolis where she was living with her mother at the time.

co-wrote Kehlani’s 2015 single, “Jealous.” and released the first full-length album, “Growing Pains,” two years later in 2017.

Her story was that of the popular saying that the apples do not fall far from the tree. She is a chip off the old block as music runs in her family. Her grandfather Roger Troutman founded funk band, Zapp, while her father Roger Troutman Jr. was a recording artist with Capitol Records in the 1980s.

This revelation coming out close to a month after her passing gives a clue as to what happened to a prodigious talent that a lot of people were watching out for.

After the news broke on January 1st, Kehlani and a host of other celebrities took their social media handles to express their shock and sadness. Her fans were not left out.

Kehlani who featured Alijai on the song “jealous” tweeted “just got the worst f–kin news ever. my heart is BROKE. F–K. ”

On another occasion she poured out her grief tweeting, “i keep typing and backspacing you knew what you meant to me everyone knew what you meant you were so special bro i seen you right thru it all i seen u thug it out lex imma miss you so bad you was about to get everything you always talked about RIP MY BABY I LOVE YOU LEX 4L,”

Lexii was a native of Saint Paul, Minneapolis. She had also been featured in songs from rappers Drake, Meek Mill, Nas and more.

Apart from her debut album “Growing Pains” which she released in September 2017, we do not know if she had other albums or songs in the works which could be posthumously released.
