Background
Shenseea is a dancehall artist with both Korean and Jamaican descents. She was born on 1st October 1996 at Mandeville Hospital in the Manchester Parish. Shenseea grew up in St. Mary (one of the largest parishes in Jamaica). She moved to Kingston at the age three; that is when her path to stardom was laid down. Chinsea was already a star from the moment she came into this world.

Education
Shenseea’s ambition was not only wanted to become an international artiste, but also master the business. She wanted to learn the art of music as a business inside out. Therefore, she immersed herself in studies, which resulted in her graduation from Mona High School. She, later on, moved to Exed Community College, where she focused on Entertainment Management. Shenseea was, however, not able to complete her studies due to financial hardships that were a common thing in Kingston. Dropping out of school is often seen as a significant setback in a person’s journey to success; Shenseea, on the other hand, had even a more reason to push on despite the difficulties she encountered, her son (Raj).

Career
Being an artist does not begin by signing up for a record label; Shenseea started to singing as a child where she got inspired by the songs she heard from MTV Hits and MTV Jamz. She was awed by the achievements of artists like Beenie Man and Whitney Houston. Shenseea began to live her dream when she first did an acapella of “Greatest Love of All by Whitney Houston.” People loved her voice, and she continued singing in the church; she developed her skills as an artist and performed in the church. Shenseea took music seriously as a career when she joined Romeich Entertainment. She was just a promo girl before being signed up by Romeich Entertainment. Chinsea would promote brands like Hennessey, Magnum, Red Stripe, and Smirnoff.

Shenseea came to the limelight after her remix of “Loodi” with Vybz Kartel and the performance at the 2015 Reggae Sumfest on a side stage. She performed “Loodi” on the main stage in 2017, thus revealing the talent she was. Telecom Firm Flow gave Chinsea corporate sponsorship deals and Pepsi-Cola Jamaica gave her a sponsorship to represent the ginger flavored soda.

Shenseea won the “Young Hot and Hype Artiste” award at the Youth View Awards in 2016, she was also crowned as the Breakout Celebrity of 2016, and the song “Loodi” with Vybz Kartel won the Collaboration of the Year award. She is also a freestyling rapper featuring in Sean Paul’s “Rolling” in 2017. She released a hit “Blessed” featuring Tyga. Shenseea also featured on Christina Aguilera’s Liberation Album in 2018 (specifically the song “Right Moves”). Shenseea’s latest achievement is signing up to Interscope Records thus becoming the first dancehall artiste to do so.
