Kevin Lyttle shot to international fame and greatly influenced the style of typical Soca music with his hit single “Turn Me On” in 2003. The song reigned on charts in countries all over the world including the U. K., Germany, Italy France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Austria, Australia, and the United States.
The song attained high spots on Billboard’s Hot 100 and MTV. Kevin went on to clinch a music deal with Atlantic Records and his album as well as single sold over 5,000,000 and 2,000,000 copies almost immediately. The singer landed two more songs “Drive Me Crazy” and “Home for Carnival that stayed number one on the charts for 2 straight years.
In 2017, Billboard named “Turn Me on” the number 1 dancehall chorus of the 21st century. They also expressed the fact that no other hook on the dancehall list could get a club jumping as if they were at a carnival, quicker than this soca/reggae hit.
